**Steele Auto Group has an immediate requirement for a Payroll Administrator to join our Head Office team in Dartmouth, NS This opportunity offers a hybrid work model within the HRM.**

The** Payroll Administrator** plays a pivotal role within our organization and is responsible for full-cycle payroll processing, payroll compliance, and employee recordkeeping. This position demands meticulous attention to detail, a strong grasp of payroll regulations, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.

**Wage commensurate with skills and experience.**

**Responsibilities** include but not limited to**:

- Manage payroll processing schedule and ensure deadlines are met
- Run payroll processing activities and execute interfaces
- Reconcile payroll results and perform audit checks
- Follow proper procedures for payroll sign off/approval.
- Run monthly/quarterly reports
- Conduct quarterly balancing of year end totals, including researching and resolving PIER
- Conduct year end balancing and filings
- Update processing documentation as needed
- Act as day-to-day liaison with dealership designated contacts for payroll-related processing.
- Timely review and resolution of issues
- Highlight and escalate relevant matters that may impact running the payrolls
- Process relevant tax forms for employees
- Participate in testing and validation as required for product updates, configuration changes
- Maintain up to date knowledge and expertise in statutory legislation, and systems
- Process Journal entries and forms such as ROE, tax forms, remittances.
- Assist in the administration of employee programs (ie. Health benefit, RSP)
- Keeping employee profile data up to date

**Requirements**:

- Post-Secondary education with a focus on accounting.
- 3-5 years of previous experience as a Payroll Administrator or similar role.
- PCP designation would be considered an asset
- Knowledge of MS Office, with an intermediate focus on Excel.
- UKG experience would be considered an asset.
- Knowledge of year-end processing required for all provinces
- Able to work under time constraints to ensure deadlines are met
