Event and Admin Assistant

**About Us**:
Workow is a human resources management company that also specializes in providing administrative and IT support services to our clients.
We are currently looking for 2 part-time Event and Admin Assistant to provide admin support and customer support to end users.
Please note that this is a contract position.
**Work Hours**:
January to March 31st, with possibility to extend.
While members are contacted for various projects, be prepared to work about 10 to 20 hours per week.
**Possible Shifts**:
Weekdays and Weekends:
- 7:30 am to 12:00 pm
- 9:30 am to 2:00 pm
- 11:30 pm to 4:00 pm
- 3:30 pm to 8:00 pm
- 5:30 pm to 10:00 pm
**Location**:
- Downtown Markham (Main)
- Downtown Toronto (Occasionally)
- Mississauga (Occassionally)
As part of our team, you will be responsible for:
- Assist facility users with setting up and testing IT and audio-visual equipment (i.e., computers, projectors, screens, and etc.)
- Ensure facility is organized and maintained in an ideal condition
- Report to the IT and Admin Specialist and solve technical problems together
- Main point of contact for office users and event attendees
- Organize details and items related to events (i.e., boardroom arrangements, catering, floor plans, special requests, setup and service requirements)
- Support other coordinators with the focus on business need and customer satisfaction
- Coordinate with other staff to set up for events
- Help to cover incoming phone calls
- Participate in operations meeting and present the most up to date information to the management and catering team
- Notifying all relevant parties of updates to event files in a timely manner
- Advise and make recommendations to management
- Ensure that venue is at a state of readiness at the beginning of each day
- Coordinate with other staff and users to support the daily operation
- Help stakeholders with technical issues, including but not limited to internet connection, Microsoft Office Suite, and etc.
- Address computer and administrative questions from customers
- Any other duties as assigned
**Qualifications**:
- Be pursuing a college or university degree
- Be able to plan and manage work under time constraints
- Be able to multitask and work independently
- Be willing to learn
- Be willing to travel across GTA
- Be able to carry about heavy equipment (50 lbs)
- Have superior customer service skills and punctuality
- Attention to detail
- Marketing or Public Relations experience and knowledge is an asset
- Have cadets and military experience is an asset
- Have experience in testing, maintaining and troubleshooting technical problems of videoconferencing equipment and software is an asset
- Have extensive experience with Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and other video-conference platforms
- Be highly comfortable in interacting with others, of varying personalities, in person, on the phone and through using remote tools
**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual, Seasonal, Freelance, Internship / Co-op
**Salary**: $17.00 per hour
