**The Prep Cook Role**

You’ll help keep the kitchen running smoothly, prepare meals with precision and care, and maintain our high standards for taste and quality. If you’re organized, detail-oriented, quick-thinking, and ready to take on a role that grows as we do, you might be the perfect fit.

**The Pay**
- Starting wage: $18.00/hour
- Automatic $0.50 raise every 6 months worked
- Staff meals available at just $5 each — enjoy our delicious offerings on your shift
- Full health and dental benefits for all team members

**Hours & Location**
- Wednesday to Saturday
- 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM
- New kitchen space: 1815 27 Ave NE, Calgary

**Roles & Responsibilities**
- Lead a station and support a small team to keep production running efficiently
- Prepare meals following Betterday recipes, maintaining quality and consistency
- Portion meals accurately, ensuring excellent taste and presentation
- Inspect ingredients for freshness and quality—only the best make it to our plates
- Keep your workspace clean, organized, and food-safe throughout the day
- Spot opportunities to improve kitchen systems, workflows, or recipes and help implement changes
- Communicate clearly and positively with your teammates and leadership
- Train and support team members to maintain smooth, consistent operations

**What We’re Looking For**
- 5+ years of experience in a fast-paced kitchen as a line cook, prep cook, or team lead
- Strong leadership skills: ability to delegate, train, and manage effectively
- Solid knowledge of kitchen safety and food handling best practices
- Great communication and teamwork skills
- Positive, patient, and calm under pressure
- Physically able to lift 50+ lbs and stand for long shifts
- High school diploma or equivalent; culinary training is a bonus
- Food Handler Certification (required)
