Plumbing Foreman

Balcaen and Sons is seeking a Journeyperson Plumber to join our team in the role of Plumbing Foreman, as we seek continued growth in the mechanical trades.

Balcaen and Sons have been serving the mechanical needs of Winnipeg and surrounding communities for over 85 years. Balcaen and Sons have been located at 1392 Pembina Highway since the 1940s. We are a Fort Garry mainstay and love the community we reside in. Work has changed a lot since things first began for us, but we still call 1392 Pembina home base. Working in a mechanical trades position will take you all over the City to meet the needs of our expansive customer base. Our core business hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday, this position is expected to operate predominantly within this window.

As our Plumbing Foreman, you will need advanced level supervision and organizational skills as you supervise, coordinate, and seek out new opportunities. The duties of the Plumbing Foreman include but are not limited to:

- Plan, schedule, assign, and supervise plumbing work on small to medium-sized commercial projects
- Inspect work progress, and ensure best practices are being followed while adhering to schedule and safety standards
- Lead generation and project quotation
- Project installation

Job Requirements
- Red Seal Certification or Provincial Journeyperson License
- 2+ years of experience in a leadership or supervisory position
- Knowledge of regulations, codes, and practices in commercial plumbing and heating
- Ability to communicate effectively with leadership and front-line staff to ensure understanding and execution of tasks to specification
- Skilled in the use of tools and equipment of the trade
- Mechanical Contractors License (applicant can be accredited after hiring process if needed)
- Valid driver’s license
