**SCOPE OF THE ROLE**

Reporting to the Transportation Manager, the incumbent of the role will maximize and manage shipment transactions by maximizing fleet and other resource utilization while adhering to processes and procedures established by the company and ensuring excellent customer service both externally as well as internally.

**ROLE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Route, schedule, plan transportation and cross docking of freight for shipping requests.
- Develop effective transportation solutions and maximize every opportunity.
- Effectively manage fleet utilization and meet contractor expectations.
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain good channel of communication with internal and external customers.
- Create, update transportation, maintain records based on inputs and feedback provided by the team or the customer.
- Monitor and record relevant shipment information systematically into the TMS.
- Communicate and do root-cause analysis on service failures.
- Rate and book costs on shipments.
- Maximize every transport opportunity to attain Gross Margin goals set by the management.
- Create, Manage and successfully execute dedicated trucking commitments.
- Create and execute backup plans for each dedicated commitment.
- Assist and coach fleet contractors as appropriate.
- Assist in admin duties like POD collection from delivery partners, uploading of Rate Confirmation from customers and audit charges if necessary.
- Adhere through actions to appropriate regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Other tasks as assigned.

**REQUIREMENTS**
- 1 year experience in an operations role within the trucking industry.
- 1 year intermodal/box car/rail experience.
- Freight forwarding/logistics experience (Asset).
- Previous experience using Sylectus (Asset).
- Diploma/ Degree in Supply Chain Management.
