Meridia Recruitment Solutions has partnered with BF&M, a leading insurance provider with operations in Bermuda, Halifax and across the Caribbean, to recruit for their Systems Administrator role in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

**Role Description**:
**Your responsibilities will include**:

- Design, implement, and maintain the company's cloud and on premise infrastructure.
- Ensure high availability and performance of all cloud and on premise based services.
- Monitoring network performance and troubleshooting Operating system issues.
- Monitoring server performance and capacity to ensure that they are operating within established parameters
- Network knowledge and experience of managing Routers, Switches, Firewalls.
- Experience in configuring Load balancers, and Reverse Proxy Appliances.
- Experience with installing and managing hyper-converged infrastructure.
- Contribute to the development of standard build and hardening processes, security standards, and team procedures.
- Prioritize, test, and deploy software updates for security and functional issues.
- Contribute to system architecture standards.
- Capacity planning and monitoring.
- Follow and uphold security policies.
- Act as a technical resource in support of other business and IT projects as required.
- Take part in the team's out-of-hours On-Call schedule as required

**Your Qualifications**:

- Five or more years of experience as a system administrator in hyper cloud and on premise environments.
- Strong conceptual understanding of TCP/IP networking in a typical enterprise environment.
- Network administration, including any of Cisco, Aruba, Peplink, Checkpoint and F5 products.
- Azure Cloud platform Administration.
- Endpoint management via Intune.
- Administration of virtualization platform preferably Hyper-V.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- A disciplined approach to your work, with high attention to detail and a cautious approach when working on production systems.

**Qualifications below would be considered an asset**:

- Storage Administration
- Infrastructure/Network Monitoring
- IT Service Management workflows and automation
- Microsoft System Center SCCM and SCVMM
- HP Data Protector or Veeam backup platforms
