**THE OPPORTUNITY**:
The primary responsibility of the Inventory Control Specialist is to perform a variety of inventory control activities to maintain the accuracy and integrity of the product within the Super Hub and Satellite Branches to support the receiving, pick, pack, replenishment and shipping activities of the business using specified processes and procedures
**Essential Functions of Job**:
- Perform inventory control activities encompassing the following: overflow/cycle counts, researching missing product for orders, handling damaged product per company/vendor agreements
- Respond to questions from co-workers concerning product location and status
- Conduct audits on packed orders to ensure quality standards, per Company standards
- Perform bin slotting and activities for Branch Operations, while always looking for ways to improve picking flow
- Perform area maintenance per established company standard operating procedures
- Follow all Company, state and OSHA safety rules, policies and regulations to ensure safe working practices, including proper work attire; report safety violations and potential safety violations to appropriate supervisory or management personnel
- Maintain a flexible work schedule and adhere to the requirement of working any designated shift and overtime as requested per business and operational needs
- Pro-actively respond to direction from leadership team, management staff and other departmental personnel
- Support receiving staff with system updates for new materials
- Support returns team and processes with Core and Warranty vendor shipments and disputes
- Initiate and support Inventory Management continuous improvement projects
- Provide high quality internal and external customer service
- Other duties as assigned
**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:
- College degree or equivalent professional experience in related roles
- Self-starter - ability to initiate and execute with limited assistance
- Effective writing, communication and interpersonal skills
- Assertive, analytical problem solver with a can-do attitude
- Ability to exercise mature judgment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel - able to analyze large data sets
- Familiarity of warehouse operations with strong understanding of facility layouts.
- Ability to learn RF terminals to successfully track product in the warehouse.
- Strong math skills and demonstrate an ability to match numbers.
- Inventory Management certificates or previous company trainings with Inventory Management.
- Demonstrate effective problem-solving.
- Ability to work independently.
- Detail oriented.
- Ability to work closely and effectively with others in a way that promotes teamwork.
**Desired**:
- Directly related work experience preferred
- JD Edwards software experience strongly desired
- Microsoft Access and Power Point
- Must be able to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
- Six Sigma Green Belt / Black Belt Certification or APICS certification is a plus
