Waste Control Service (WCS) is a private, locally owned, and operated recycling and waste management company offering solutions for sustainable management of all things waste. We offer collection services and consultation for both residential communities as well as commercial, industrial, and institutional organizations exclusively in the Greater Vancouver region. We have a head office and shop in Coquitlam B.C. and two recycling yards in North Vancouver where we primary process some of the recycling we regularly collect from our customers, which also operates as a recycling and secure shredding facility open to the community.

**Who we are looking for**:
Our team is growing, and we are seeking an individual passionate about the environment to work out of our Coquitlam facility. Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the primary responsibilities of the Human Resources Assistant is to ensure the hiring pipeline The Human Resources Assistant role is a fast-paced role supporting our operations department. Reporting to the Human Resources Manager the incumbent will provide general human resources support.

**Responsibilities**:

- Prepares job posting and advertisements through websites and social media; screens applicants, arranges interviews, creates job offer letters.
- Conducts background checks as required.
- Maintains confidential employee information and updates employee files enrollment of new employees, staff changes, training information, and filing.
- Provides information and assistance to a variety of internal and external contacts concerning employment opportunities and vacancies, recruitment procedures, position qualification requirements, health and safety initiatives, employee benefits inquiries and related matters.
- Promotes and supports HR corporate values.
- Provide administrative support to the Human Resources and Operations Department.
- Full cycle recruitment: posting vacant positions, screening applicants, scheduling interviews, and conducting background checks, ensuring internal opportunities are posted and communicated before posting externally.
- Manage the onboarding process for all new hires, including ensuring IT and other departments are notified of requirements needed.
- Support managers/supervisors with team building and other social events.
- Ensure HRIS is accurate and provide reports as required.
- Other duties as assigned.

**To be Successful**:

- Completion of Human Resources Diploma.
- Sound understanding of basic Human Resources foundations, principals and functions.
- Considerable knowledge of the methods and techniques used in recruitment, including sourcing, and interviewing.
- High level of attention to detail, ensuring monetary and benefits information is correctly administered.
- Strong keyboarding and computer skills needed to perform the essential duties of the position. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, social media, and applicable HR software.
- Strong customer focus, and exceptional communication, organizational and time management skills.
- Organized, multitasker, with a high level of attention for detail, who thrives in a busy work environment.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external contacts on matters related to the work, and to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to organize workload and set priorities, and to be flexible with changing priorities and deadlines.
- Minimum 1 years’ experience.
