**Operations Manager**

**PURPOSE OF THE POSITION**
The Operations Manager provides operational and professional support to the Executive Director and the Board of Directors and acts in the position of Executive Director in her absence. The Operations Manager will provide a wide range of management services, works with mínimal supervision and is expected to work in a role that is supportive of and complimentary to that of the Executive Director. This is an out-of-scope position in a unionized environment.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
ADMINISTRATION
- Provide support for operational requirements including but not limited to strategic planning, outcome attainment, funding activities in consultation with the ED and/or Board.
- Compile data and prepare reports for consideration of the ED and funders.
- Assist with communications to clients, staff, and funders.
- Monitor work and office environments and make recommendations for effective systems that address quality service delivery, efficiency and safety in all shelter program areas
- Provide HR support in managing personnel including staff coaching, conflict management, discipline, and evaluation. Consult with ED on discipline and departure of any employee.
- Provide direct support, compilation, and monitoring of statistics and outcome measurement processes to ED for reporting.
HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
- Offering input on retention strategies.
- Takes a lead role in scheduling and monitoring of staffing levels, work closely with the Shelter Coordinator and other Management and Administrative staff on scheduling.
- Provides and organizes staff training and development opportunities
- Recruits and coordinates practicum students and summer employment students from a variety of post-secondary programs -delegates student supervision items to supporting staff roles
- Provides direct oversight to children’s support, outreach, and other grant funded programs and staff in those roles
PUBLIC RELATIONS/ FUNDRAISING
- Occasional representation or co-representation of the agency at committees, meetings or events at the ED’s discretion.
- Provide practical support for fundraising activities
OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED
- The ED may assign other duties or tasks that she deems reasonable in accordance with the interests and needs of Regina Transition House and its clients.
KNOWLEDGE
- Knowledge of community based non-profit organization operations, human resources practices, funding and strategic planning, union/management and board dynamics, policy, governance and board activities.
- Working knowledge of domestic or intimate partner violence, stabilizing crisis, residential programming, and client case management.
- Knowledge of the historical impacts of the Child Welfare system, intergenerational trauma on family dynamics and intersectionality on clients’ experiences
- Willingness to learn and practice in a harm reduction framework or prior experience in employing harm reductions practices
SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Strategic thinking, problem solving and above average oral and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail, effective organizational and time management skills while managing multiple priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, particularly when dealing with client and human resource matters

- Competent use of word processing, spreadsheet and database software.

- Produce clear, concise reports.
- Maintain accuracy, confidentiality and discretion when working with employee, management, Board, client or donor files.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in the Human services combined with management, administrative and supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience with the necessary skills/abilities.
- Valid SK driver’s license and eligibility for enrollment in agency auto insurance plan
- Clear Vulnerable sector criminal records check
- First Aid and CPR C training and Mental Health First Aid training an asset
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: From $33.00 per hour
