**JOB SUMMARY**:
This role is responsible for data analysis in support of measuring business performance. The role will develop metrics, KPIs and dashboards in support of SaskPower’s goals and objectives and in response to critical business questions. Where necessary the individual will add structure to the data, identify new required data points, and recommend realistic data collection methods. They will utilize the data to report, visualize, and ultimately tell the story of performance to various audiences and more importantly highlight recommended actions for improvement. The individual must effectively collaborate with stakeholders across SaskPower to deliver meaningful results.

**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES**:

- Collect data from a variety of sources using existing methods and, where required, define new and sustainable collection techniques.
- Define and manage metadata.
- Create mechanisms for exploring structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data to identify patterns.
- Assess data quality and support ongoing data integrity.
- Generate insights and, where appropriate, recommendations from the available information.
- Create reports in Microsoft Power BI (or similar if SaskPower toolset changes) and, where required, present insights and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders.
- Commission and decommission datasets.
- Handle confidential information responsibly and in accordance with applicable policy and procedures.
- Train and transition ongoing reporting to appropriate team members.
- Plan, research, develop, evaluate, and implement processes, policies and procedures utilized for the development of strategies and business initiatives that address the organization’s requirements
- Identify new business solutions and operational efficiencies, while providing recommendations which have a significant impact on SaskPower’s business operations and strategies
- Lead and/or participate in cross-functional projects to provide data expertise for corporate and departmental strategic planning initiatives
- Maintain knowledge of industry developments and best practices related to data analytics and adapt them to SaskPower’s operational environment
- Provide leadership and direction to project teams and/or assigned staff as required

**KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES**:

- Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or other related equivalent AND/OR;
- Related professional designation(s) and/or certification(s) AND/OR;
- Five (5) years of related business analytics experience
- Team player with the ability to build and maintain strategic relationships both internal and external to SaskPower
- Results oriented thinker, with the ability to manage and provide advice regarding complex and confidential issues with sensitivity and professionalism
- Excellent analytical, research and problem solving skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work and manage in a changing environment
- Excellent facilitation, project management and decision making skills
- Ability to foster a culture focused on safety, innovation and teamwork
- Demonstrated skill in SaskPower’s competencies
- Must have a continuing record of professional development
