Sarens Canada is currently recruiting for a Senior Accountant based out of our Leduc office. This is a full-time permanent position reporting to the VP of Finance. This position will be responsible for the following responsibilities and tasks (but not limited to); - Ensures and executes a reliable and punctual financial administration including proper filing, which includes all accounting responsibilities: General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Provisions, Deferrals, VAT/Taxes, ICO Reconciliations, Monitoring Cash Levels, Periodical Period closing (month end entries, prepare and upload reporting packs to head office) - Ensures a reliable and punctual Financial Reporting Processes, in accordance with Group standards and local legal requirements - Solves any irregularities and deviations independently, investigates and intervenes when necessary, and takes appropriate and punctual actions, seeking the assistance of higher management when needed - Assists with the production of financial reports and information (monthly/quarterly/yearly and on request) - Strong background with reconciliations, systems and financial accounting - Proactively informs the VP of Finance on relevant trends and developments. - Closely liaises with: Line Management in the company, Accounts Receivable, VP of Finance, Regional Finance Manager and External Accountant and Auditors. - Mentors and coaches junior members of the accounting team - Works safely and according to the Sarens’ quality standards to ensure that all work is done in a safe, efficient and qualitative way. - Incorporates the attitude of Lean and continuous improvements. **Qualifications**: - 3+ years’ experience in a similar role - CPA preferred or an accounting related business degree - Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel - Knowledge of financial systems, previous experience with Microsoft Dynamics (D365) an asset - Excellent customer service, organization, critical thinking and time management skills - The ability to work independently as well as in a team We offer a competitive salary, based on experience, and full employer-paid health and wellness benefits.
