**Position Overview**
The Manager of Planning and Development is responsible for taking ownership of the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple real estate projects and actively leading due diligence matters on potential development deals. This role is also responsible for directing and motivating the project team, all while delivering a superior product as expected by our stakeholders.
**Key Responsibilities**
**Planning**
- Manage the advancement of the real estate development files through all phases (feasibility, schematic design, design development, construction, and delivery)
- Manage and direct all project consultants
- Obtain all necessary approvals, including zoning from the City
- Responsible for engaging and finalizing consultant teams.
- Actively participate and manage both the acquisition and planning of Gala’s Development sites
- Ensure that all pertinent information regarding the project is provided to all members of the team concerned in a prompt and clear fashion.
- Conduct all presentations associated with different phases of the development process including reporting to the executive team and investor groups
- Manages the external consultants/internal development team and is responsible for all project document control including reviewing invoices
- Responsible for all design deviation approvals via alternative substitutions, and the quality of the projects at various stages
- Assist the Vice President of Real Estate Development in assembly and acquisition
**Financial**
- Liaise with finance in the preparation of budgets and pro formas
- Assist finance in maintaining project financial success and meeting all reporting deadlines
- Work with the Vice President of Real Estate Development and Finance team to establish preliminary budget and preliminary Pro Forma
**Construction**
- Liaise with construction for maintaining construction scheduling, procurement and successfully meeting deadlines
**Required Knowledge and Experience**
- A minimum of 7+ years’ relevant experience in the real estate/construction industry
- Master’s degree in urban planning, Civil/Building Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent work experience is a strong asset.
- Strong knowledge of building design (can read architectural plans at the minimum) and can lead conversations with design professionals on design-related topics.
- Excellent communication skills, with a proven ability to lead and manage teams
- Strong legal acumen, business acumen and strong negotiation skills.
- Ability to see the big picture while also being able to dive into the details
- Highly organized and driven to develop, maintain, and improve operational standards
- Inspires achievement and promotes inclusion among team members
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
**Salary**: $120,000.00-$140,000.00 per year

**Experience**:
