Gringo isn’t your ‘everyday’ restaurant, which is why we’re not looking for your ‘everyday’ Team Members. Gringo doesn’t operate with the typical ‘back-of-house’ & ‘front-of-house’ divide where the kitchen team sweats away in the back while the servers and bartenders shine in the spotlight. As a BOH Service &/or Prep Kitchen team member at Gringo, you are a part of the atmosphere, energy, and vibe. Slinging our award-winning tacos, burritos, and 'dillas while working side by side with our FOH service team. At Gringo, all team members are equally a part of creating the best possible guest service experience, and therefore all team members, whether FOH or BOH, receive an equal share of gratuities (typically between $5-$10+/hr), instead of the usual $1-$2/hr. most kitchen positions receive. The Job:
- Maintains great communication with team members and manager.
- Prepares items and dishes as per service and plating guide.
- Always ensures the highest standard of cleanliness, and works proactively to reduce waste, while maintaining the highest quality of food served.
- Ensures stock rotation (FIFO), supports inventory management processes.
- Participates in regular deep cleaning schedule and ad hoc kitchen hygiene responsibilities as directed.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- It’s not about your skills it’s about you. If you have experience, great, we’d love to meet you. If you don’t have experience, we’d love to meet you too. That said, kitchen management experience is a plus for us
- At Gringo we have a great training program for our BOH Service &/or Prep Kitchen team.
- Food Safe L1 is required.
Part-time hours: 24 per week, days, evenings, weekends
Full-time hours: 40 per week, days, evenings, weekends
