- Volunteer Management Certificate (preferred)
- 2 years experience working with and supervising volunteers
- Experience in a busy office environment, interacting with a variety of people internally and externally
- Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook
- Satisfactory attendance

**ACCOUNTABILITIES (Major Responsibilities of the Position)**
- Provide communication support to all departments and volunteers.
- Set departmental goals and develop action plans in collaboration with the Director.
- Facilitate assignment specific recruitment efforts to match skills/interests with organizational needs.
- Develop consistent and documented approaches to process and conduct volunteer screening.
- Facilitate access and completion of CKHA's general orientation and training; lead volunteer department training with all new recruits.
- Support volunteer recognition events and ongoing training/development for all CKHA volunteers.
- Participate in the recruitment and selection, orientation, placement, training, stewardship and recognition of volunteers.
- Work closely with unit/department leaders to monitor and evaluate volunteer placement and to assess volunteer satisfaction.
- Assist units/departments to resolve conflicts and escalate significant performance issues to the Director.
- In collaboration with Director, develop action plans to address conflict or performance issues, up to and including discipline of termination. Conduct exit interviews.
- Collaborate with units/departments to encourage, assess and support volunteer placement as well as appropriate and thorough volunteer assignment design and documented assignment descriptions to guide both staff and volunteers in understanding their role and responsibilities on the unit.
- Schedule volunteers to support the needs of CKHA's departments.
- Connect with volunteers in their service assignments to ensure high quality service to CKHA departments and rewarding engaging experiences for volunteers.
- Other duties as required: including administrative tasks to support the department, assistance with Patient Advisor Recruitment, and other duties as assigned.
