**How You’ll Spend Your Time**

As **DIVERSECITY Event Coordinator **your primary focus will be to plan, coordinate, and deliver the annual multi-site DIVERSECITY events across Prince Edward Island. This position also involves writing funding proposals and reporting back to funders. You will establish the immediate path forward for the events, and then in turn, maintain and communicate the steps that will lead to their long-term success. You will be the primary contact for staff, volunteers, vendors & performers as well as infrastructure concerns for all event sites. You will be the onsite Event Lead in delivering the DIVERSECITY festival across various PEI Communities during the Months of June, July & August.

**DIVERSECITY** was created in 2007 and has evolved steadily since its inception. Originally, planners envisioned a range of interactive activities, for all ages and cultures, with the hope that celebration and education would lead to new Canadians’ increased comfort in their communities. This has bloomed into an island-wide festival, with representation from over fifty countries in a variety of artistic and interactive displays, including performance, art, and culinary sampling.

This role collaborates across departments to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to promote IRSA’s vision, mission, and core values.

**Responsibilities**:

- Plans and executes all DIVERSECITY event details including but not limited to venue, catering, vendors, AV & technical set up, clean up, volunteers and other duties as delegated by the reporting Manager.
- Sources funding and submits proposals to various funders to meet needs of planned events.
- Creates multi-site budgets that align with the non-profit environment and can adapt to emerging needs to maintain that standard.
- Organizes and facilitates meetings with outside committees, community groups and organizations, as well as other service providers.
- Ensure adequate publicity and marketing is delivered to achieve annual attendance goals.
- Creates awareness and promotes IRSA programs and services through collaboration and partnerships with organizations, service providers, communities, and community groups
- Liaises with community organizations to form partnerships for assisting IRSA with DIVERSECITY related concerns.
- Collaborates with vendors/performers to ensure a positive experience and that the delivery of event and service standards are met.
- Acts as the primary onsite contacts for all vendor/talent/guest-related inquiries.
- Provides excellent guest service during the events to enhance overall experience.
- Performs post-event evaluation and feedback reports on outcomes and implement suggestions, to ensure the ongoing improvement of event delivery.
- Evaluates service program delivery and provides regular reporting for funding partners
- Is committed to ongoing process improvement to further the efficiency of the above listed duties.
