**REPORTS TO**: Director of Operations **MANAGES**: Repair Project Coordinators Rebuild Field Team **LOCATION**: Ottawa, ON, Canada **ABSTRACT FOR PRODUCTION MANAGER ROLE** There is the adage that failing to plan often results in delivering less than expected results - which is deemed: - a failure. As a Paul Davis Production Manager, it is imperative that you stay on top of everything that is going on in our production “arena”. The “arena” is where our 1,000+ repair jobs get set up: work plans for each job get created, work is performed by our field operators, results are measured against an established set of performance criteria and the deliverables demonstrate that we are difference-makers, intent on delivering extraordinary care while serving our customers in their time of need. The Production Manager oversees a team of Project Coordinators & Administrators who are accountable for ensuring the smooth execution of each project according to the plan - coordinating work scopes, schedules, job budgets, and delivering a Certificate of Satisfaction, signed by a delighted customer, upon job completion. Our Production Manager will play an integral role in building, developing and maintaining a strong Operational Team. **JOB DESCRIPTION** The position will be responsible for: - Maintaining a big-picture perspective on the Production Team’s mandate. Ensuring the Production Team is equipped with all the tools, processes and resources required to deliver a successful project result. Working with other managers to remove obstacles that hinder the Production Team’s performance. Building a set of internal compliance tasks for team members to execute and a set of performance reports that measure the metrics used to determine the success of both individuals and the Production Team. Analyzing performance reports and coaching direct reports on how to close the gap between where their performance is and where it needs to be. Building efficiencies into the project plans to maintain/improve project deliverables including, lifecycle, cost controls, customer satisfaction and others. Evaluating, adjusting, and creating new policies and procedures that will refine our commitment to always delivering what was promised. Ensuring that The Production Team always follows all Health and Safety protocols. - Acting as a liaison between Senior Management and the Production Team and participating in interdepartmental Town Hall meetings designed to exchange ideas, present challenges and seek mutually beneficial solutions. Act as the initial escalation point if issues rise above the Project Coordinator position and engage to resolve the issue before it escalated above the Production department. **ACCOUNTABILITIES FOR THIS ROLE** Production Manager accountabilities provide direct reports with a framework for how to achieve higher performance within the organization. Each of these accountabilities is directly linked to specific skills and behaviors needed to be successful in a managerial role, as described below. - Acquire clarity on the Production Team’s mandate and build a team of talented individuals who “get it”, “want it”, and “have the capacity” to accomplish that mandate. Create strategy, goals and/or plans for the team and individuals and establish them as Key Performance Indicators. - to be measured on a weekly basis. - Supervise the day-to-day activities of direct reports to ensure smooth operations - looking to remove obstacles, resolve conflicts with trades, customers and/or clients and support them in their daily endeavors. Evaluate performance and develop staff by engaging in a goal setting and review program that is focused on closing the gap of there their performance is and where it needs to be. Create forums where direct reports can discuss best practices, share information across other company departments.
