**Position Summary**:
**We are looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Quality and Risk Management Coordinator to join our collaborative team. Together, we support the organization’s quality improvement, patient safety, accreditation, and risk management programs. The Quality and Risk Management Coordinator is a key member of a dynamic team dedicated to promoting organizational excellence. This role involves working closely with hospital leadership, clinical teams, and external partners to develop, implement, and monitor strategies that enhance patient outcomes, reduce risk, and maintain compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards.
**Requirements**:
**Education and Experience**:
- Undergraduate degree in Health Sciences, Nursing, Health Administration or related field (Masters Preferred).
- Certification in Quality or Patient Safety (e.g., CPHQ, CPPS, Lean Six Sigma Blackbelt).
- Advanced knowledge of healthcare accreditation standards (Accreditation Canada), patient safety legislation, and risk management methodologies.
- 5 years of progressive experience in healthcare quality, patient safety or risk management.
- Demonstrated success leading multi-disciplinary projects with organizational impact.
- Proven experience in managing sensitive patient safety incidents, accreditation processes, and compliance reporting.
- Strong ability to analyze, interpret, and communicate complex data to diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Demonstrate good judgment, tact and diplomacy in interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
**Role and Responsibilities**:
This individual drives a risk management and quality improvement mind-set and is primarily responsible for:
- Quality Improvement:
- Lead and support QI initiatives aligned with hospital priorities and strategic goals.
- Collect, analyze, and report performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Educate and engage staff in QI methodologies such as PDSA cycles and Lean principles.
- Patient Safety:
- Coordinate patient safety initiatives, including incident reporting, analysis, and follow-up.
- Support root cause analyses and the development of corrective action plans.
- Monitor and report compliance with patient safety indicators and best practices.
- Risk Management:
- Identify, assess, and mitigate organizational risks in collaboration with clinical and administrative teams.
- Manage risk reporting systems and ensure timely investigations.
- Support legal and insurance-related processes as required.
- Accreditation:
- Act as a resource for Accreditation Canada standards and requirements.
- Coordinate accreditation readiness activities, including documentation, audits and staff engagement.
- Track compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements.
