Quality Assurance Manager

**MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
The Quality Assurance Manager will ensure the quality and food safety of products through the control of raw materials used, manage good practices in production and coordinate with the policies and objectives of the Group Quality, Environment and Food Safety (“QEFS”). The individual will be in charge of training staff and will consider the daily tasks and consequent impacts on production processes and share quality tools. The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for follow-up of audits and consequent actions, along with the management of client complaints. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Control of documents referent to Quality and Food Safety System;
- Create and review documents with the aim to ensure their effectiveness as regards communication and that they are harmonized with the directives of Group QEFS department;
- Take part in the definition and review of sampling and analysis plans of RM and EP;
- Record the non-conforming bulletins of RM, ensuring that all the relevant information is sent to the entities involved in the non-compliance;
- Make Decisions regarding the acceptance/refusal of RM and EP, in cases where the available criteria do not fully and objectively meet the criteria to accept/reject the RM or EP;
- Ensure coordination of the HACCP team;
- Check the compliance of the HACCP plan as far as prerequisite programmes, operational control points and critical control points;
- Communicate to Group QEFS all the relevant information that may impact on the HACCP plan;
- Work with the production sector in order to define and implement actions in order to ensure the food safety of products;
- Follow up the GMP in the production unit, supporting the production teams in their development/ continuous improvement;
- Alert and report to the persons in charge of the different sectors about possible gaps that have been checked as far as the necessary requirements to ensure food safety;
- Propose improvements to carry out the daily tasks carried out in production area that may have impact on quality and food safety;
- Have Knowledge of CCPs, OPRPs and PRPs;
- Have knowledge and adherence to HACCP, Food Safety and Quality procedures and policies;
- Stimulate ad mange the plant Food Safety Team;
- Record internal non-conformities;
- Carry out the analysis of customer complaints and internal NC and possible causes;
- Take part in the industrial sector’s analysis of cause and definition of correction, preventative and corrective actions;
- Follow up the implementation of defined actions, in the field, and carry out the assessment of their effectiveness;
- When NCs occur, ensure the compliance of defined timelines to analyse causes and implement the defined actions;
- Take charge of the Quality Control Laboratory - supervision of laboratory management, not only at the level of the compliance of the sampling and analysis control plan, and at the level of human and material resources, but also at the level of compliance of the annual budget;
- Ensure that Monitoring and Measuring Equipment (MME) are used in conformity with the Maximum Permissible Errors (MPE / Limits of Errors) defined for each MME.

CAD 84,000.00 to CAD 92,000.00 per annum based on a 40-hour work week. Eligibility for annual salary increase and performance-based bonus.

**EDUCATION**:
Bachelor Degree in Technology, Engineering or Food Sciences
**EXPERIENCE & OTHER REQUIREMENTS**:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a quality assurance manager/specialist in food processing or manufacturing;
- Hazard analysis critical control point (HACCP) training;
- Demonstrated knowledge of methodologies of quality assurance and standards;
- Effective communication skills for training and leading associates in a multi-cultural environment;
- Proficient computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word) and problem-solving aptitude;
- Knowledge of health and safety standards, regulations, supervisory responsibilities and best practices;
Pay: $84,000.00-$92,000.00 per year
