**Job Summary**

The Estimator reports to the Director of Preconstruction and is responsible for supporting the estimating team across multiple projects in the pre-construction stage.

**Responsibilities**:
Pre-Construction Coordination
- Support the team in conducting detailed drawing reviews of Building Permit and Issued for Tender Drawings.
- Assist in evaluating, negotiating, and awarding sub-consultants for projects.
- Prepare site markup sequencing plans for all stages of construction.

**Budgeting**
- Complete detailed quantity take-offs of common construction materials, presenting the information clearly in spreadsheets.
- Assist in populating project budgets and assigning costs to different line items within the budget.
- Communicating with key trade partners on budget pricing
- Reviewing value engineering options and presenting them to the owner/developer.

**Tendering**
- Preparing and sending out tender packages, including drawing packages, scopes of work and site logistic plans to trade partners.
- Ensuring sufficient trade pricing coverage is provided for each scope, and that each scope closes on the assigned due date.
- Updated trade partners with any pertinent RFIs or Addendum.
- Compile all trade quotations and complete tender evaluations for each scope of work:

- Review inclusions and exclusions.
- Ensure that each subcontractor has included all required costs.
- Review quotes in conjunction with Caliber’s scopes of work.
- Complete tender award recommendations to send to owner/developer.
- Complete tender award meetings and prepare Letter of Intent documents for awarded subtrades.

**Subtrade and Supplier Database**
- Maintain Calibers’ trade and supplier master lists:

- Assess reliability of service
- Evaluate cost comparison for material and services provided.
- Ensure that material data is available and updated.
- Prequalify new trades and suppliers.

**Personal**
- Maintain a good working relationship with all sub trades and employees by personally demonstrating integrity, honesty, hard work, respect, passion, and innovation.

**Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience**

In order to fulfill the responsibilities, Caliber Projects expects the following:

- 1-3 years experience in general construction estimating preferred.
- A Strong proficiency with the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Excellent organizational skills with discipline and attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to analyze problems and provide solutions using sound judgment and decision-making skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skill
- Ability to read construction working drawings and specifications.
- PlanSwift Experience an asset.
- Procore Experience an asset.
