As a key member of the Data & Analytics Practice Department, you will be responsible for the development and continuous
improvement of the discipline of enterprise data governance, and work with lines of business and senior management to implement
their experience related to master data management, data standards, definitions, data governance, and data quality.
You will provide leadership and work closely with the Data & Analytics Systems team to define and implement an enterprise data
governance framework across the organization and set data policies and standards while also supporting data governance
capabilities through tooling (e.g., data lineage) and best practices. This includes enforcing and advocating for the data governance
program enterprise-wide, escalating substantial issues to the data governance steering committee, and providing strategic direction
and leadership for data governance initiatives. You will create strong partnerships with key business stakeholders throughout the
organization to establish effective enterprise data governance that will help drive business critical priorities.
**_ Responsibilities:_**
- Responsible for the development of consistent enterprise approaches/policies related to master data management, data
standards, definitions, data governance, and data quality across all departments of Manitoba Hydro.
- Develops and implements policies for data governance, obtaining necessary approvals and resources, and ensures policies
are continually improved in maturity levels in accordance with business needs and in alignment with Strategy 2040.
- Contributes to the strategic evolution of data governance at Manitoba Hydro by designing and operating policies and
processes for data enablement using an agile development methodology.
- Ensures that the data governance processes are documented and classified accurately to meet security, privacy, data quality,
lineage, and retention requirements.
- Builds effective working relationships with business stakeholders by collaborating with business data system owners to
establish new roles, develop processes, and adopt technology solutions to support enterprise data governance.
- Specifies and communicates data quality and classification policies and standards to Third Party Service Providers.
- Monitors and enforces Third Party Service Provider adherence to data governance guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Manages cross-business units initiatives to address data governance issues.
- Develops and delivers data value, risks reports, and any issues with data quality to senior leadership.
- Ensures enterprise alignment around guiding principles for data governance. Recommends strategies, policies, and solution
approaches to data governance across the organization.
**_Qualifications:_**
- A four-year bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline from a university of recognized standing with a minimum of six years

- Advanced education in data governance, data management or analytics is considered an asset.
- Knowledge and expertise in data governance technology, business process modeling, metadata, data lineage, data quality
- and enterprise implementation of data governance tools and solutions.- Ability to distill data governance strategy, principles, policies, and standards from a technical perspective into terms that can
- be communicated to the enterprise.- Strong problem-solving ability with a focus on managing business outcomes through collaboration with multiple internal and
- external parties.- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in team environments and to lead teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to convey complex ideas with ease.
- Must have strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
