**Fund Development Officer**

Full-time Position, (32 hours/week)

Hybrid role

**The Role**
MEOW Foundation is seeking a passionate and results-driven **Fund Development Officer**to join our dedicated team. This new role will focus on building and strengthening relationships with donors, corporate partners and the community, to grow MEOW’s fundraising capacity.

Reporting to the Director, Fund Development, the Fund Development Officer will develop and implement strategies to secure funding from individuals, corporations, foundations and other revenue streams while ensuring an exceptional donor experience that aligns with MEOW’s values and mission.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Plan, execute and evaluate fundraising campaigns, appeals and support third-party events to meet annual revenue targets.
- Identify, cultivate and steward relationships with individual donors, including major donors, monthly supporters, community partners and legacy contributors.
- Research, write and submit grant proposals and sponsorship packages to corporate and foundation partners.
- Collaborate with the communications team to develop donor-focused content, including direct mail, donor impact stories, MEOWZine newsletters and stewardship reports.
- Maintain accurate records of donor interactions, gifts and stewardship activities in the donor management database, Donor Perfect.
- Support the Fund Development Committee, providing updates, reports and recommendations.
- Act as a MEOW ambassador at events, tours and presentations, ensuring a positive and inspiring donor experience.
- Nurture a culture of philanthropy and champion the mission and guiding values of MEOW Foundation throughout the organization.

**Qualifications**
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in fundraising, donor relations or a related role (nonprofit and animal welfare experience is an asset).
- Post-secondary education in fundraising, communications, marketing or a related field; CFRE designation or equivalent experience is an asset.
- Proven track record in securing philanthropic gifts and sponsorships.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to inspire and engage diverse audiences.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficient in donor databases and giving software (e.g., GiveCloud, DonorPerfect, TipTap, CanadaHelps) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must be comfortable working in a shelter environment, which may include exposure to dust, animal fur, dander, cleaning products, animal waste, and zoonotic diseases.
- Must be able to commute within Calgary to attend events and visit various MEOW locations as needed.
- A passion for animal welfare and alignment with MEOW’s mission and values.

**About MEOW**

Established in 2000, MEOW Foundation is a cat-specific registered not-for-profit organization with a no-kill mandate.

MEOW is the only organization in Calgary that offers four foundational programs:
1) Rescue and Adoption provides food, shelter and medical care to stray and abandoned cats in Calgary and facilitates their adoption into new, loving permanent homes.

2) Subsidized Spay Neuter Assistance Program (SNAP) for Calgarian’s in-need to assist with the cost of spay and neuter.

3) Trap Neuter Return (TNR) Program for feral cats.

4) Cat Food Assistance (CFA) is a temporary support program if you are in need of cat or kitten food.

Through our programs, we advocate for responsible, compassionate animal care and assist over 2500 cats each year.

MEOW is a well-respected member of the animal rescue and services community in Calgary and works closely with other local and Alberta based groups to change the lives and provide a future for abandoned and mistreated companion animals.

Pay: $27.50-$28.00 per hour
