**Job Description**:
The role works with continuous improvement initiatives and systems related projects, which will vary in size, duration and complexity. Combining knowledge and expertise, and using a variety of facilitation and interview techniques, the role will identify and document business outcomes, process design, business & functional requirements for existing systems or new functionalities, scope, approach, plan, milestones, schedule, risks, issues and lessons learnt.

The role is responsible for scoping, leading and implementing continuous improvement projects to improve productivity, reduce waste and deliver cost savings. This role will support the business in achieving target performance, working across Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Planning, and Program Management.

The role has a strong bias for implementing systems that ensure strong user adoption and business outcomes. This position does not have any direct reports, but will play a lead role with Subject Matter Experts and business users in the Supply Chain organization.

Duties/Accountabilities
- Leads and delivers continuous improvement projects as assigned including collaboration with relevant partners, communication of progress and results, monitoring effectiveness, and ensuring sustainability.
- Performs assessments, root cause analysis, strategic business analysis, and project planning to prioritize and initiate continuous improvement projects, both internally and in support of other departments.
- Supports the delivery of initiatives led by other departments, in particular high priority projects requiring cross-departmental support.
- Shares and promotes performance improvement methodologies with other employees and managers to develop skillsets and facilitate a continuous improvement culture.
- Supports the development, implementation, and sustainment of the shipyard’s improvement processes and systems.
- Researches, evaluates, and implements current industry standard methods, procedures, and technology, as relevant to assigned projects.
- Writes executive summaries, trending cost savings, cost avoidance and capacity increase initiatives.
- Instrumental in initiating process analysis and improvement initiatives requiring system changes.
- Work with business stakeholders, technical SMEs and leadership to ensure that the solution provided aligns with the business requirements and objectives.
- Perform, coordinate and manage user acceptance testing and requirements traceability to help manage scope and quality to ensure delivery of fit for purpose solutions.
- Perform process and gap analysis to ensure compatibility and interoperability of processes and systems.
- Provide orientation and inputs into process and system training material.
- Perform continued evaluations of end user adoption and work with end users to find opportunities for business process improvements.

Education and Experience
- Degree in Engineering or equivalent technical background and/or experience.
- 6 or more years' experience working in a program/project management, continuous improvement and/or systems enhancements/upgrades required.
- Demonstrated functional proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (JD Edwards, Oracle, SAP, etc.) designing and implementing improvements for processes such as Procure to Pay, Logistics, Material Resource Planning or Manufacturing.
- Experience in a multi-stakeholder environment with collaborators from different business units and departments.

Skills, Knowledge and Required Competencies
- Lean Six Sigma certification with proven continuous improvement history.
- PMP certification with project management experience.
- Predictive analytics skills using statistical software and data mining.
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and facilitation skills.
- High degree of tenacity, self-motivation, and innovation.
- Ability to work independently to develop solutions to complex technical problems.
- Excellent analytical skills to gather and analyze/synthesize data, confirming its accuracy and adequacy.
- Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills including the ability to produce and present clear technical specifications, presentations, procedures, and reports.
- Knowledge of process improvement techniques.
- Good understanding of organizational change management.
- Good understanding of project management techniques.
- Knowledge of shipbuilding and heavy manufacturing processes.
- Good organizational skills including the ability to maintain organization in a changing environment, multi-task and establish priorities.
- PC proficiency required. Advanced knowledge of basic Microsoft Office 2010 software suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
