**Position purpose**:
Responsible for the logistics of the physical venue, setting up and ensuring the smooth running of of productions and events, while respecting technical and safety constraints of the venue and the audience (sound recording, instrument mixing, lighting and multimedia equipment, installation of event supplies). Assists before, during and after customer events (internal, external, students) in a way that reflects positively reflect positively on the University of Ottawa.

**In this role, your responsibilities will include**:

- Sets up the equipment for each event; reviews each component and ensures proper operation until the equipment is dismantled. Acts as chief technician in all circumstances before, during and after events.
- Supervises or creates a production plan (lighting, sound, multimedia, etc.) taking into account a multitude of technical constraints and the artistic needs of the event.
- Provides immediate support to customers during an event in the event of problems; ensures that equipment or software used is repaired/replaced as quickly as possible; if this is not possible, designs and implements alternative solutions.
- Communicate with the customer during the event to clarify their needs and ensure the smooth running of planned activities.
- Carries out inspection and maintenance of equipment and production stages, as well as any other work required, such as carpentry, equipment transportation, painting and cleaning. Verifies that parts are functional and inventoried, and that warehouses are clean and organized to increase teamwork efficiency. Regularly update inventory
- Participates in the implementation and renewal of sound, lighting, audiovisual and multimedia systems, as well as in the development of various programs (mainly lighting and sound) to improve the efficiency of the given service.
- Recommends the purchase of equipment to ensure necessary modernization or to meet needs.
- Writes an activity evaluation report, draws up a production/staging report and adds it to the event file in order to make ongoing improvements.
- Reviews the progress of activities to determine whether they are being carried out according to customer expectations and established quality standards, and makes any necessary adjustments.
- Participates in the training of TENs and contract employees during events (ensuring procedures are followed, problem solving, etc.) to promote ease and speed of resolution. Follows up with the Senior Coordinator on the performance of these employees.

**What you will bring**:

- Post-secondary training in multimedia production or equivalent
- In-depth knowledge of lighting and sound equipment, multimedia
- multimedia equipment and presentation software. Must possess competency cards: Articulating Aerial Work Platform and Overhead Crane and Rigging.
- Bilingualism - French and English (oral and written)
Good knowledge of advanced Mac OS X and Windows PC environments, as well as any open-source operating system running on the Linux kernel.
- Minimum of 4 years' relevant experience in the field.
- Strong customer service experience in a resource person role.
- Excellent organizational, inventory management and time management skills. Strong artistic sense. Initiative, analytical mind and autonomy.
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications or ideas devised by the customer. Help the customer develop a technical and logístical strategy.
- Ability to transport objects (10 kg - 40 kg), agility required (climbing ladders, working at heights), manual dexterity required, as well as strong physical stamina.
- Ability to work under pressure to ensure the smooth running of each activity must implement rapid solutions that meet the criteria of the event and this in front of an audience that can exceed 2000 people.
- Basic knowledge of electricity and electronics.
