**About The Role**:
The Event Manager assists with the coordination and preparation of hotel accommodations for assigned client events. The Event Manger works on assigned events to secure the hotel room blocks required and works with travelling teams to supply them with accommodations. Once the room blocks are secured by each team, some additional tasks include; answering customer questions and advising on the booking process, reviewing rooming lists and reservations changes, communicating with teams and hotel suppliers on deadlines, obtaining hotel confirmation numbers and submitting them to team members, reviewing and ensuring everything is completed and ready prior to arrival.

**Responsibilities May Include**:

- Provide exemplary customer service to clients, customers of clients and suppliers
- Manage hotel group room blocks and meeting space for all sizes of assigned groups
- Accurately handle data entry tasks (hotel confirmation numbers, hotel room block inventory, hotel reservations / rooming lists, policies, hotel contracts, RFP’s, etc)
- Manage hotel room inventory
- Submit RFP to hotel suppliers
- Review hotel bids and efficiently book room blocks based on event needs and projections
- Adhere to deadlines and timelines in a timely manner
- Negotiate rates and policies with hotel sales contacts
- Effectively and efficiently multitask in a high-volume environment
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs

**Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary education and/or training related to Customer Service is an asset
- 2+ years working in a customer service driven role
- Ability to communicate (both verbal and written) effectively and professionally with clients, customers of the client and support staff
- Bilingualism a strong asset
- Strong attention to detail skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting
- Ability to multitask and be agile in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills combined with excellent customer service skills especially during busy periods, stressful situations, or conflicts
- Possess an excellent attendance record
- Punctual, reliable, and dependable
- Flexible and adaptable to deal with varying situations
- Strong listening/comprehension skills
- Strong organizational skills
