**Position Summary**:As a Repossession and Recovery Specialist, your role will involve collaborating with bailiff service providers to retrieve assets from clients in default of their loan obligations. You will work closely with the Collections and Paralegal teams to furnish bailiff providers with up-to-date information and loan status reports. Strong investigative and networking abilities are essential for the execution of daily responsibilities. Additionally, you will support managing and monitoring the inventory of repossessed or returned assets.

**KEY Accountabilities**:

- Coordinates the repossession of secured assets, while compliant with legal requirements and company policy
- Review RSLA and PPSA liens registration to assess lien priority and perfection
- Maintain accurate records of repossession activities
- Communicate with customers regarding vehicle surrenders and forced repossession
- Issue Notice of intent to lien holders when asset have been recovered
- Create payment plans, negotiate payment settlements with debtors while also providing up to date written correspondence to customers
- Analyze data from various reports identifying key account discrepancies while providing resolution
- Leave accurate notes on all accounts worked via our internal/external platforms
- Assist in identifying recoverable and irrecoverable assets to assist towards positive recoveries
- Investigate and resolve customer disputes regarding
- Managing and tracking the inventory of repossessed or returned assets
- Support the remarketing team regarding asset disposition
- Provide Deficiency balance letters post-sale of an asset when a deficiency balance exists.

**Education & Experience**:

- Previous work experience in a call-center work environment/equivalent
- Previous work experience in providing excellent customer service
- 3-5 years collection experience is required
- General understanding of PPSA, RSLA registrations
- Previous experience in dispatching bailiff for asset recovery
- Experience with Consumer Proposals and Consumer Bankruptcies
- Experience with asset repossessions and handling late-stage accounts
- Diploma/Certificate in related industry is an asset, but not required
- Knowledge in Microsoft Office, previous work experience with Excel is an asset
- Bilingual (English & French, asset but not required)

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:

- Strong communication and negotiation skills are essential for interacting with vendors and customers
- Ability to handle challenging situations and communicate effectively with diverse individuals
- Familiarity with provincial laws and regulations related to repossession and lien priorities
- Ability to handle difficult situations with professionalism and empathy
- Intermediate computer skills
- Strong decision-making skills

- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent customer service and phone etiquette
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Skip Tracing experience is an asset

**Working Conditions**:

- Hybridized working arrangement with approximately 1-2 days a week in-office at our Etobicoke, ON location
- Works indoors in adequate workspace, with adequate temperature, ventilation and lighting.
- Normal exposure to noise, stress and disruptions.
- Must be able to sit at a computer for long periods throughout the workday, with intermittent periods of standing, walking to carry out essential duties of the job.
- 8-hour shift
- anywhere in between Monday to Friday 8 AM to 8 PM

**COMPENSATION**: $45,000 - $50,000 depending on experience
