**Manager Facility Operations Cowan Park Sportsplex (12 MONTH CONTRACT)**
**Qualifications**:
To be considered, applicants must possess the following qualifications
- University degree in Recreational Studies, Leisure Studies, Public Administration, or Business Administration or equivalent related discipline
- Minimum of five years’ experience in delivery and design of recreational programs augmented by sponsorship development and grant writing experience.
- Excellent working knowledge and proficiency in the recreational programming, community development, Legion programming
- Excellent skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Legend program registration, report printing and facility booking an asset
- Results oriented with excellent facilitation and conflict resolution
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Excellent analytical research, report writing, project/time management, organizational communication, presentation, problem solving, demonstrated leadership, interpersonal and supervisory skills
- A valid driver’s license and use of a vehicle is required
**Duties**:
Manages the overall operations, maintenance and programming of Cowan Park Sportsplex. The individual will also have responsibilities for grant writing, and recreational programming within the Parks and Recreation department. The individual will be responsible to ensure community needs and the current strategic plan are being met.
- Managing the overall operations and maintenance of Cowan Park Sportsplex including life safety systems and equipment.
- Developing, recommending and implementing maintenance policies and procedures to ensure efficient facility operation and responsible risk management. Ensuring facilities comply with Fire, Technical Standards and Safety Authority, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Ontario Public Health and other safety standards, guidelines, by-laws and appropriate legislation
- Leads hiring process and provides new employee orientation to assigned full-time and part-time staff with an ongoing review and updating of training orientation programs.
- Supervise and Manage work schedules and employee assignments for full and part time staff
- Maintains effective communication & relationship with public and all stakeholders
- Promote building to increase usage and promote an active community
- Prepare and control expenditures as approved in the annual operating budget and capital budget for Cowan Park Sportsplex.
- Conduct research, write reports, review policies and priorities as well as maintain current annual Business Planning Objectives and KPI’s
- Ensure personal and staff development in relevant sectors by maintaining training and knowledge transfer.
- Responsible for the daily operations of the Cowan Park Sportsplex and Recreation Programs as it relates to effective public relations and customer services. Is available after hours evenings and weekends for special events to ensure the Corporations obligations are met
- Coordinating the selection process for consultants and contractors and making recommendations to the Director of Parks and Recreation on major capital projects. Overseeing contracts upon award and monitors and evaluates performance.
- Develops goals and objectives, initiates projects dealing with recreational program delivery
- Research and write grants for the Parks and Recreation Department
- Being a part of a Parks and Recreation management team to develop priority setting for the Department, Capital infrastructure, cover pending vacation schedules and emergency situations
- Ensures that confidentiality is maintained.
- Other duties as assigned.
Compensation $81,295 - $95,641
