**About the Opportunity**:
The Research Assistant position directly reports to the Research Manager, (ACCRU). The Research Assistant contributes to the Oncology Research Collaborative, a particular research study or division by assisting with study administration, providing general administrative support, and maintaining study data.
**Specific Accountabilities**
**Study/Clinical Trial Administration**
- Completes Case Report Forms in conjunction with the PI and/or Manager and/or Coordinator
- Processes and submits forms to Research Ethics Board (REB)
- Prepares specimens for shipment, as applicable
- Administers, scores and records results for study tests (e.g. questionnaires)
**Administrative Support**
- Replies to routine correspondence and composes and edits letters, documents and general memoranda
- Orders, maintains and monitors offices supplies
- Attends, records and distributes minutes for meetings
- Faxes, photocopies, books rooms, catering and meetings and other related clerical functions
- Coordinates incoming and outgoing mail and arranges for courier services
- Processes invoices and financial payments
- Acquires signatures for regulatory documents
**Data management**
- Collects data related to study
- Files study documents, test results, etc
- Develops and maintains methods of tracking information through databases and spreadsheets
- Enters, summarizes and analyses data using database and/or spreadsheets
- Archives documentation related to study once it has closed and develops and maintains a method of retrieval from storage
**Performs other related duties as required**
**About You**:
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Grade 12 required
- Currently enrolled in post-secondary education in a Health Science and/or Science related field required, or completed Bachelor Degree in a Health Science and/or Science related field preferred
- Two years’ research related experience preferred
- CCRP (Certified Clinical Research Professional) or CCRA (Certified Clinical Research Associate) an asset
- TCPS2: CORE Certification considered an asset
- Proficiency with current Capital Health systems (STAR, PHS and/or LIS) an asset
- Effective communication, problem solving and decision making skills
- Ability to draft, format and edit office correspondence
- Well developed organizational, time management and daily planning skills
- Ability to work well independently as well as within a multi-disciplinary team environment
- Two years related experience preferred
- Previous experience in a health care/research setting is an
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

**Compensation and Benefits**:
$22.78 - $28.48 Hourly
