**Type**: Full-time (35 hours/week) until September 30, 2025

**Reports to**: Research Lead

**Salary**: $56, 830 annually, pro-rated for length of contract

**Start date**: As soon as possible

**Working conditions**: ARAISA staff work in a hybrid environment which includes a minimum of 2 days per week in the ARAISA office.

Travel within the Atlantic Region may be occasionally required.

**THE OPPORTUNITY**

The Atlantic Region Association of Immigrant Serving Agencies (ARAISA) is looking for a Research Assistant to join its growing team.

Reporting to the Research Lead, the Research Assistant engages in data analysis and knowledge mobilization to help support the sector. The Research Assistant will work closely with the ARAISA team and project partners to create and disseminate research products that inform service delivery.

ARAISA is a non-profit umbrella association which serves as a collective voice and forum for its more than 40 member organizations who are committed to the settlement and integration of immigrants and refugees in the Atlantic Region. ARAISA works to increase the effectiveness of its members through its initiatives to support the sector and its contributions to regional and national forums. ARAISA provides professional development and networking opportunities, facilitates information and resource exchange, hosts sector-specific working groups, convenes meetings with key stakeholders, and represents its members through national bodies, with the goal of having a positive impact on settlement and integration policies and practices.

**MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Supports the design and delivery of research relevant to the settlement and integration sector.
- Assists with the collection of qualitative and quantitative data through interviews, questionnaires, literature reviews, and other methods.
- Conducts and supports analysis of qualitative and quantitative data, including transcription, thematic coding, data entry, and other activities.
- Supports the creation of research reports and knowledge dissemination tools for various audiences and interest holders.
- Coordinates and leads meetings for project advisory committees and other interest holders.
- Supports the planning and facilitation of knowledge-sharing activities and events, including webinars and in-person events for interest holders.
- Ensures that research activities are implemented in accordance with ethics requirements and protocol.
- Coordinates with external vendors, consultants, and other providers as required.
- Contributes to a positive team environment where inclusion, trust, learning, and well-being are valued.
- Provides support to ARAISA’s programs and operations, as required.
- Assists with other duties, as required.

**EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS**
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field.
- 1+ year of experience with research projects.
- Knowledge of the settlement and integration sector, particularly in the Atlantic Canadian context.
- Experience carrying out qualitative and quantitative research through interviews, questionnaires, literature reviews, and other methods.
- Strong qualitative analysis skills. Quantitative analysis skills considered an asset.
- Advanced level of computer proficiency (MS Office) and knowledge of research-related software (i.e. NVivo).
- Strong writing skills with the ability to write clearly and concisely (Bilingual EN/FR an asset).
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, professionalism, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working in or with the not-for-profit sector and/or the immigrant and refugee settlement sector is considered an asset.
