**Company Description**
- The Division of Gynecologic Oncology at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia provides gynecologic oncology care for the province of Nova Scotia which has a population of over 1 million, about half of whom live outside of the Halifax Regional Municipality. Dalhousie also provides surgical gynecologic oncology services for the patients of PEI who make up approximately 10 percent of our surgical volume.
- Working out of the largest specialized cancer center for Atlantic Canadians, the QEII Health Sciences Centre provides world-class care to address some of the highest cancer rates in the country. As part of the provincial government’s QEII New Generation project, a brand-new cancer centre is on the way. This new space will be filled with natural light and elements that create a welcoming and uplifting environment from the moment patients enter.
- Our primary site is in Halifax with outreach to community centers for clinical care. The group works closely with radiation oncology, pathology, and genetics. We enjoy strong clinical and academic collaboration with gynecologists, oncology nurse practitioners, and those in general oncologic practice. We have strong academic and research partnerships with foundational scientists and epidemiologists. Department members participate in medical education and clinically oriented research. Within our Collective Practice, we are particularly interested in provincial quality of care initiatives to ensure equitable access and delivery of care. We currently work in a Collective Care Clinical Model, and within this is a shared surgical practice.
**We are looking for a new collaborative team member who exhibits innovative thinking and is dedicated to providing the highest quality care for patients living with gynecologic cancers in Nova Scotia.**
**Qualifications**
**Applicants require a**RCPSC** Fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology or equivalent.** They should have an interest in pursuing teaching/education and research within their professional scope. Experience in clinical practice is preferred.
- The successful applicant will have a M.D. or equivalent degree and RCPSC Fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology specialist certification or equivalent.
**Dalhousie’s Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology have a Clinical and Academic Funding Plan (C/**AFP**) and physicians will be compensated as part of the practice plan.**
