Accounts Payable/accounts Receivable Technician

**The Opportunity**:
Reporting to the **Accounting Services Supervisor**, the AP/AR Technician is responsible for transactional accounting services in both accounts payable and receivable. This role plays a key part in maintaining the City’s financial integrity through accurate and timely processing of financial transactions.
**Qualifications & Experience**:
- Diploma in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 2-3 years of progressive experience in AP, AR, or general accounting.
- Experience in municipal finance or public sector accounting is an asset.
- Familiarity with Vadim/iCity or other ERP financial systems is preferred.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered, except where specific qualifications are required.
**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**
**Technical Skills**:
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial controls, and legislative requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and financial systems.
**Soft Skills**:
- Ability to process high volumes of transactions accurately under tight deadlines.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with vendors, customers, and internal teams.
- Analytical mindset for resolving discrepancies.
- Commitment to confidentiality and handling sensitive information with care.
**Work Style**:
- High attention to detail and audit-ready documentation.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
**Salary and Benefits**:$30.97 - $38.71 hourly and 4% vacation pay
