At Aecon, people are at the heart of everything we do. As the Paver Operator **travel throughout southern Alberta and southern Saskatchewan is required**. This contract is** 7 months**and will begin in **April 2025**.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Operate the paver and other equipment safely and efficiently
- Ensure the asphalt mix is placed to the correct grade and thickness
- Inspect the prepared area before paving
- Maintain the correct speed and move the paver in a straight line
- Perform daily maintenance and safety inspections
- Preheat the paving screed before asphalt placement
- Monitor and control asphalt mixture temperatures
- Coordinate with trucks delivering asphalt to the paver
- Inspect paved surfaces for quality and smoothness
**Required Knowledge & Experience**
- 3+ years' experience operating a Paver, following all standard equipment procedures.
- Ability to communicate with supervisors, co-workers, contractors and the general public in a courteous, professional manner at all times.
- Maintains a valid Class 5 driver’s license or better.
- Own vehicle to get to and from jobsite.
- **Willing to work out of town and in remote locations, as required.**:
- Willing to work overtime, as required.
- **Must comply with the company's drug & alcohol program, including testing requirement.**:
