**National Sales & Product Manager, Wire & Cable**

**Major Responsibilities**:
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with assigned suppliers.
- Assist field personnel by developing sales tools and techniques designed to increase sales penetration.
- Recommend and aid in the implementation of national product programs and activities designed to improve market share and profitability.
- Support training specific to assigned market.
- Responsible to monitor and manage the national wire inventory.
- Develop potential, penetration and trend data applicable to assigned market.
**Responsibilities**:
- Communicates national marketing plan for assigned markets.
- Assist Account Managers by participating in joint customer calls and negotiating project cable buys.
- Work with senior management to negotiate national purchasing agreements with key wire manufacturers.
- Identifies, evaluates and recommends new products and suppliers.
- Make specific recommendations for regional and national inventories.
- Assist in managing obsolete and slow-moving inventory.
- Evaluates performance of key market suppliers and recommends appropriate action plans.
- Work with senior management to provide price benchmarking.
- Assist in development and implementation of professional skills and product training applicable to assigned markets and related products.
- Develop and implement new sales tools and techniques specific to assigned products and markets.
- Research, validate and maintain market potential, trend and penetration data.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
**Preferred Skills & Abilities**:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Five or more years of progressively more responsible sales and wire and cable industry experience.
- Ability to develop, implement and evaluate marketing plans.
- Knowledge of products and marketing plans acquired through Company and supplier training programs.
- Broad knowledge of supplier’s products; industry product and service trends; and construction, commercial and industrial markets.
- Ability to evaluate customers’ needs, analyze sales reports and statistics, and develop strategies to improve penetration.
- Practice excellent spoken and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to resolve disputes and provide problem solving solutions.
- Have proven proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Good organizational and very strong negotiation skills.
- Capable of collaborating with teams and achieving results.
