**Lead clinical education programs and make a difference in the lives of individuals in custody**: Are you a Registered Nurse with a passion for education and leadership? The Ministry of the Solicitor General is seeking four Clinical Educators to lead the development and delivery of clinical education programs for health care staff in correctional facilities. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the safety and well-being of both staff and people in custody by enhancing the quality of health care services through evidence-based education and training.
**About the job**: In this role, you will use your education and leadership skills to create a safe environment for both people in custody and staff through the delivery of health-care education and training. You will:
- Provide professional direction and coaching to health care staff on clinical practices, policies, and procedures
- Develop and deliver a combination of virtual, in-person, group, and individual training programs
- Develop and implement comprehensive onboarding, mentorship, and student programs
- Assess learning needs and create education plans
- Lead working groups and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
- Evaluate health programs and services to ensure alignment with standards
- Participate in ministry committees, communities of practice, and working groups
- Liaise with health care partners including hospitals, health centres, public health units, specialists, and other correctional facilities
**What you bring to the team**:
**Mandatory requirements**:
- you are a Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- you are willing and able to travel occasionally to various institutions
**Clinical Education Knowledge**:
- You can design, develop, and assess clinical training programs
- You have experience conducting needs assessments and analyzing training data
**Leadership and Communication Skills**:
- You can lead the delivery of training to adult learners and work with individuals from diverse backgrounds
- You have demonstrated leadership in coaching, training, mentoring, and quality improvement
- You can work independently as a team leader as well as collaboratively as a team member
**Research, Evaluation, and Reasoning Skills**:
- You can assess staff learning needs and implement skill development strategies
- You can assess population risks to guide educational programs and recommend evidence-based changes
- You can research new legislation, changing programs and emerging technology to anticipate needs
- You can modify programs based on feedback and evolving priorities
**Organizational and Technical Skills**:
- You can manage resources and coordinate programs as well as large training initiatives
- You can develop work plans and estimate and recommend financial, material, and human resources needs to meet objectives
- You can use computer technology for both in-person and virtual training delivery as well as instruct students in the use of technology
