SEM Special Projects is the self performing department of SEM. This department supports each of our sites by self performing various scopes utilizing the field staffs different skill sets. These scope range in size and complex with varying durations.

SEM Special Projects performs work outside the SEM umbrella by using its self performing field staff as well as coordinating specialty trades to execute direct to owner contracts.

Role: Special Projects Site Supervisor (Full Time)

Experience: 5+ years industry experience

Education: Secondary school diploma, trade certification, industry experience in related roll

Certification: Gold Seal (preferred)

Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities of Special Projects Superintendent:
1. Lead and manage field staff in self performing roles.

2. Lead assist with site safety duties including the documentation responsibilities.

3. Assist with technical direction of trades and staff.

4. Lead and develop look ahead schedules as required on multiple jobs simultaneously

5. Perform quality control duties and responsibilities regarding the work being performed.

6. Communicate with Project Team regarding RFI’s, SI’s, Material Submittals & Schedule.

7. Assist with the coordination required inspections with local jurisdictions.

8. Maintain daily log (Procore) of activities on the jobsites.

9. Site visits weekly to monitor activities and assist in future planning.

10. Preside or assist with weekly subcontractor meetings designed to coordinate the work.

11. Report progress to project team on regular bases.

Secondary Functions

1. Assist field staff with material supply and coordination

2. Gather project material submittals and maintain records of approvals at the jobsite.

3. Identify areas of work that are outside of subcontracted scope.

4. Ensuring jobsites are secured at the end of the day.

Key Competencies:

- Provide direction to and resolve problems amongst varying number of field staff, subcontractors and vendors.
- Ability to identify deficient work and provide resolution.
