**Compensation: $16.75/hour + $5.70 (minimum guaranteed tips)**

**Job Summary**:
The Victoria Event Centre (VEC) is a non-profit that opened its doors in 2003, and is a favourite venue for artists and local community organizers. Appreciated by producers and performers for its versatility and affordability, the VEC has been home to countless shows that have brought music, comedy, theater, burlesque, cultural performance and activism to the heart of Victoria.

We are seeking casual Front of House staff to work bar, box office and coat check for evening and weekend events. Some events can go as late as 3am so reliable transportation is required. This is a fast paced work environment with a flexible schedule.

**Key Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Work bar, box office and coat check shifts
- Complete FOH opening and closing duties, which includes setup and takedown of tables and chairs
- Welcome guests upon arrival, check ID, scan tickets, provide information about the venue and event
- Serve drinks while following all liquor compliance, take cash and card payments using Square point of sale system
- Assist with cleaning, bussing, bar support and general FOH duties on shift

**Preferred Skills and Experience**
- Serving It Right (preferred)
- Bar experience (Training can be provided)
- Passionate about performing arts and safer spaces

**Job Types**: Casual, Seasonal

**Salary**: $22.45 per hour

Expected hours: 5 - 15 per week
