Company Description
Dropbox is a special place where we are all seeking to fulfill our mission to design a more enlightened way of working. We’re looking for innovative talent to join us on our journey. The words shared by our founders at the start of Dropbox still ring true today.
Wouldn’t it be great if our working environment—and the tools we use—were designed with people’s actual needs in mind? Imagine if every minute at work were well spent—if we could focus and spend our time on the things that matter. This is possible, and Dropbox is connecting the dots.
The nearly 3,000 Dropboxers around the world have helped make Dropbox a living workspace - the place where people come together and their ideas come to life. Our 700+ million global users have been some of our best salespeople, and they have helped us acquire customers with incredible efficiency. As a result, we reached a billion dollar revenue run rate faster than any software-as-a-service company in history.
Dropbox is making the dream of a fulfilling and seamless work life a reality. We hope you’ll join us on the journey.
Team Description
The People team are ambassadors of enlightened work, delivering meaningful experiences that empower us all to do our best work.
Role Description
At Dropbox, people are our greatest asset. The People Analytics team has grown alongside with Dropbox to help our leaders make more informed decisions on identifying, attracting, developing, and retaining top level talent. As Dropbox embarks on the new world of Virtual first - the People Analytics team is looking for a Data Analyst with a passion for problem-solving and the ability to analyze People data to help usher in this new era of work. Not only will you partner within the people team, but members across the organization to uncover trends and influence the greater company strategy. This role will have a specific focus on People data and using quantitative/qualitative data to help scale our shift to Virtual First. You should have a demonstrated ability to think analytically about the business, deliver concrete results under ambiguity, have a critical eye for detail, and have high expectations and standards.
**Responsibilities**:
Support analytics projects focused on understanding drivers of hiring effectiveness, efficiency, quality, and inclusion.
Regularly review core metrics for Talent Acquisition, proactively surfacing trends to answer the “what” and “why” behind the data.
Build relationships with key stakeholders, help with requirement gathering sessions, and develop the insights to help People and Dropbox leaders understand and support our workforce.
Answer business questions through independent investigation and data forensics, regularly leveraging our data warehouse to pull data quickly for time sensitive insights.
Ensure our data meets high accuracy and efficiency standards — QA data, standardize definitions and calculations, and build upon data toolkits and trainings for stakeholders.
Assist our dashboard team by building visuals and partnering with IT to add enhancements to our data warehouse.
**Requirements**:
BA/BS in an analytical major such as Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or similar.
3+ years experience in Business Intelligence/Data Analytics in a client-facing and data-driven role, with past exposure to working with HR and Talent Acquisition teams.
Experience and a passion for storytelling with data. Can confidently choose the best visualization style for the given context; the insights from your visualizations speak for themselves
Ability to efficiently analyze large volumes of data, quickly draw insights, and present concise/clear recommendations of results
Track record of driving projects from end to end (from building strategy to execution)
Fluent in SQL, advanced Excel, with prior exposure to statistical modeling tools like R or Python.
Ability to think creatively and critically and thrive in a fast-paced, multifaceted, and often ambiguous work environment
Humble and a team player - you go out of your way to help teammates.
Dropbox is an equal opportunity employer. We are a welcoming place for everyone, and we do our best to make sure all people feel supported and connected at work. A big part of that effort is our support for members and allies of internal groups like Asians at Dropbox, BlackDropboxers, Latinx, Pridebox (LGBTQ), Vets at Dropbox, Women at Dropbox, ATX Diversity (based in Austin, Texas) and the Dropbox Empowerment Network (based in Dublin, Ireland).
