**Assistant Manager of Maintenance**

37.5 hours weekly

Salary range is $79,248 to $88,146 annually

**Key duties**:

- Managing the daily maintenance operations of permanent, regular or casual

maintenance staff, and ensuring a functional, safe and comfortable school

environment
- Along with the Manager of Facilities, oversee the recruitment, selection, orientation,

training and evaluation of maintenance and trades personnel as directed by the Director

and Manager of Facilities
- Assisting with Project Management as required
- Assisting with dispute resolution in a unionized environment
- Carrying out administrative tasks as required
- The supervision of all maintenance staff
- The development of a positive liaison with the school Principal or Designate
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills
- Previous Facility Management experience in a unionized environment
- Previous Project Management Experience
- Ability to use and communicate effectively thru smartphones, computers and other

information systems.
- Training and advanced working knowledge of MS Office and Google Suite.
- Ability to communicate effectively in the English language both orally and in writing
- Ability to promote and maintain effective work relations with school division staff,

students and the public
- Completion of high school is mandatory, post secondary education is desirable
- Journeyman certification is an asset
- Valid class 5 license
