Accounting Manager

**Overview**
**Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities**
- Manage payroll and employee benefits.
- Manage vendor accounts.
- Perform month-end and year-end closing.
- Prepare all financial reports and monthly operating results to the partners.
- Work closely with the Law Society of Alberta, Law Society of Saskatchewan, and Law Society Winnipeg and submit annual trust reports to ensure compliance with the Law Societies.
- Liaise with the firm's auditors on year end financials.
- Prepare, reconcile and file GST, PST, RST, General and Trust accounts monthly.
- Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management.
- Assist with the preparation of annual budget.
- Maintain and enhance accounting practices, policies, processes, systems and internal controls to ensure compliance with reporting standards.
- Preparation of any additional financial reports as required by assistants and lawyers in the firm.
- Supervision of an accounting clerk.
**Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- A recognized professional accounting designation.
- Minimum 10+ years experience in an Accounting role.
- Minimum 5+ years law firm experience.
- Expert Level knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with ProLaw software is an asset
- Knowledgeable in Law Society regulations and expectations.
- Ability to work effectively in a team atmosphere, assisting other staff, lawyers and partners in the firm
- Exceptional communications and collaboration skills along with interpersonal awareness.
- Commitment to deadlines and attention to detail.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: From $70,000.00 per year
