**The Role**

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Accounts Payable Administrator will perform accounting and clerical duties related to the efficient maintenance and processing of accounts payable and receipt transactions and general office duties.

**The Organization**

Mentholatum Canada is a small Health & Beauty / OTC company, located in St. Catharines, Ontario. We have a solid product presence in the Drug, Mass, Grocery, ECOMM and other non-traditional channels. We have strong brands, including OXY® (acne care), Deep Relief® (topical pain relief) and Softlips (lip care), as well as some smaller brands such as pHisoderm®, Provacare®, Hada Labo Tokyo® and our original product Mentholatum® Natural Rub which launched in 1889.

Mentholatum Canada is small, yet nimble with 10 associates in various departments such as Marketing, Sales, Customer Service, Finance, Regulatory/Quality Assurance, and Purchasing/Supply Chain locally, and draws R&D and Manufacturing from other Mentholatum units or externally. Globally, Mentholatum is headquartered in the U.S. (Orchard Park, NY), with major subsidiaries in Europe, Asia, Australia, and Latin America. Mentholatum is wholly owned by Rohto Pharmaceuticals, a specialty pharmaceutical/OTC company, based in Japan.
- **KEY DELIVERABLES**:_
- Manage the full cycle Accounts Payable function
- Manage cash payments to meet company cash flow deliverables
- Prepare month-end journal entries and ensure completeness of accruals
- Accurately prepares reconciliations and analytical reports for A/P department.
- Maintain expenses within approved budgets for G&A (Bank Charges, Utilities, Cleaning and Maintenance, Telephone, and Postage), provide monthly forecast for same
- Receiving of all company PO’s
- General office duties
- **PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**:_
- Sort; code G/L account; monitor price charged; and enter invoices into ERP system.
- Receiving for all Purchase Orders, includes printing and filing of all necessary documentation.
- Investigate and resolve all payable discrepancies and issues
- Prepare vendor cheques for mailing and prepare online wire, and EFT payments and ensure vendors are paid within established time limits.
- Prepare bank deposits and use Deposit Edge to scan and deposit the cheques online
- Prepare monthly intercompany transactions and reconciliations
- Responsible for completion of month end A/P procedures per Month End checklist
- Review and verify all expense reports for processing
- Reconcile monthly statements and process credit card payments
- Assist Finance Manager with Accounts Payable month and year-end working papers.
- Complete all month-end reconciliations within the designated timeframe
- Participate in the Mentholatum committee’s:

- Health & Safety
- Wellness
- Social Activities
- Team member for global ERP transition plan to Microsoft Dynamics
- Receiving and distributing courier and mail deliveries
- Prepare product samples for 3rd parties
- Performs other office administrative duties as required
- **Characteristics / Skills**_
- College/University degree in Accounting
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft office (advanced Excel is required)
- Strong analytical, critical thinking skills and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Accuracy, attention to detail, and strong verbal and written communication skills required
- Must handle confidential information in a discreet manner
- Self-motivated and able to prioritize work and multi-task
- Analytical skills and ability to convert insights into actions and recommendations
- Contract Position from September 2025 to March 2027 (1.5 years)
- This is a part-time position, 4 days a week in the office location
- Base salary is $25.00/hour + 4% Vacation

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 per week

Schedule:
