**About Us**
West Coast Placer is a leader in exploration and mining services, specializing in geophysical surveys, claim management, and sustainable resource development. We’re currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced **Contract Paralegal** to manage judicial reviews, Freedom of Information (FOI) requests, and other legal/administrative functions essential to our operations.
**Position Overview**
The Paralegal will assist in the preparation, filing, and management of judicial reviews, handle FOI requests, and support our team with regulatory and administrative tasks. Hours are expected to average between **20 to 30 hours per week** but may vary depending on project workload. This is a contract position, offering flexible hours and competitive compensation.
**Key Responsibilities**
- **Prepare and file judicial reviews**, ensuring all legal documents are accurate and meet regulatory standards.
- Conduct research and submit **FOI requests** to secure information relevant to our projects.
- Manage and organize **regulatory documentation** and administrative filings to ensure compliance.
- Provide **legal administrative support** related to claims management, compliance requirements, and procedural filings.
- Maintain communication with regulatory bodies and collaborate with management to meet all legal deadlines.
**Qualifications**
- **Paralegal Certification** or equivalent experience in legal administration, ideally within the fields of administrative law, regulatory compliance, or natural resources.
- Proven experience with **judicial reviews** and a solid understanding of FOI procedures.
- Strong research, organizational, and analytical skills, with acute attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage a variable workload.
- Proficiency with **legal and administrative software** and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Clear, professional communication skills for interactions with regulatory authorities and internal teams.
**Preferred Experience**
- Background in **mining, environmental law, or resource industries**.
- Experience handling **Freedom of Information (FOI) requests** and familiarity with provincial regulations.
- Knowledge of **court procedures** and documentation related to judicial reviews and administrative law.
