Medical Office Manager

**Job Summary**
North Island Medical Clinic is a primary care clinic which services all comers with a focus on low barrier access for those who struggle with mental health, substance use issues, and homelessness. In the role of office manager, you would bring compassion and a strong desire to work with those who are vulnerable and marginalized.
**Duties**
- Manage the daily operations of the medical office, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
- Supervise and train office staff, including receptionists, medical assistants, and billing personnel.
- Oversee scheduling of patient appointments and ensure efficient patient flow within the office.
- Maintain electronic medical records (EMR) systems and ensure accurate documentation of patient information.
- Develop, oversee and manage budgets, monitor expenses, and implement cost-saving measures as needed.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure high-quality patient care and effective communication among staff.
- Handle human resources responsibilities including hiring, performance evaluations, and staff development.
- Ensure proper handling of medical terminology in all communications and documentation.
- Assist in acute care situations as needed, providing support to nursing staff when required.
**Skills**
- Proficiency in OSCAR or similar medical office management software is preferred.
- Strong understanding of electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Experience in budgeting and financial management within a healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to both hospital and outpatient care environments.
- Excellent supervisory skills with the ability to lead a diverse team effectively.
- Familiarity with human resources practices specific to healthcare settings.
- Ability to work collaboratively with medical office staff, nurses, medical providers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
