**Job Summary**:
Under the direction of the Plant Manager, the Maintenance Supervisor has primary responsibility is to supply technical assistance to the facility in order to maintain and improve overall operational efficiency. Supervising the Maintenance Department activities. This includes direct supervision of the Maintenance and Technicians along with managing process improvements.

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the whole plant equipment, to significantly improve plant performance and reliability through the management and coordination of all maintenance and engineering activities within a large scale, complex, defined area. To define, implement and manage a risk based maintenance strategy for area of control in order to meet the business, Safety, Environmental, Financial and Operational objectives at minimum cost and in the safest manner.

**Essential Functions**:

- Manage the day-to-day operations of the maintenance department.
- Maintain strict adherence to company and safety policies/procedures, by ensuring a safe work environment for employees, and through leadership, instill an employee involved safety approach.
- Responsible for keeping all the process and building equipment in operating condition to minimize downtime and ensure efficient production
- Supervise, direct, and coordinate the mechanical maintenance employees engaged in maintenance activities in the department.
- Responsible for training and development of maintenance personnel to determine competency, knowledge, and the contributions of each direct report.
- Responsible for resolving employee issues through conflict resolution.
- Coordinate with Production in preparing maintenance outages, daily work schedules and preventative maintenance activities. Ensure proper manning to execute all tasks.
- Coordinate outside contractors and consultants as needed to ensure reliability is maintained, and to address manpower deficiencies.
- Drive continuous improvement through reliability efforts and root cause failure analysis.
- Coordinate maintenance spending with operations and maintenance manager to adhere to budget. Assist in the development of yearly maintenance plan.
- Develop operating, process, and reliability improvements through innovation.
- Manage and coordinate project work involving external contractors.
- Schedules, trains and initiates all disciplinary action as required.
- Schedules all department vacations and coverage as necessary.
- Determine training requirements and prepare training plans.
- Performs other related duties as may be assigned by the Plant Manager.

Qualifications:
**Qualifications**:

- Demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.
- 3-5 years Supervisory and maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Completion of Community College/University.
- Understanding of TPM (Total Productive Maintenance)
- Ability to balance and achieve positive results in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, cost, and employee relations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and
- Ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of Quality Assurance (QA) and Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) standards.
- Knowledge of production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of product.
- Preferred software knowledge in SAP and Maintenance Connection.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
