**Reports to**: Human Resources Manager
**Compensation**: $25.21 - 27.32/hr
**Schedule**: 8:30 - 4:30, Monday to Friday (75hrs bi-weekly)

**Key Responsibilities**:
1. Talent Acquisition and Recruitment:

- In partnership with hiring managers, execute a recruitment plan by sourcing, screening, interviewing, on-boarding, and training people in order to attract and retain qualified talent aligned with the organization’s strategic objectives;
- Build partnerships with universities, co-ops, and other external programs to strengthen our talent streams;
- Collaborate with the Communication department to strengthen employer branding;
- Build compelling job descriptions and corresponding job ads using written and visual mediums designed to attract talent aligned with the organizations mission, vision, and values;
- Execute a recruitment strategy that includes tactics that keep justice, equity, diversity and inclusion (JEDI) at the centre;
- Enhance communication with all applicants, regardless of how far they advance in the recruitment process to ensure timely and engaging communication throughout the recruitment process;
- Execute reference and background checks; and
- Employment Contract management.

2. Onboarding:

- Ensure first day new hire paperwork processing takes place as well as systems set-up and workspace set-up;
- Execute orientation sessions for onboarding employees;
- Supporting managers with new employee training plans; and
- Conduct regular retention check-ins throughout first 6 months of employment to monitor/support new employee experience and successful onboarding.

3. Completing special projects as assigned and other duties as required.
**Requirements**:
**Education**:

- Minimum of a post-secondary diploma in Human Resource Management or Business Administration with a focus in one of the following

**Experience**:

- No prior experience in required, however related experience within Human Resources, Recruiting, or related field considered an asset
- Note_: An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:

- Exceptional written and oral communication skills with a proven ability to initiate conversations with members of the public
- Highly proficient in MS Office programs including Word, Outlook and Excel; prior knowledge of Applicant Tracking Systems considered an asset
- Proficient in Acrobat Adobe, Windows Explorer and database management.
- Ability to understand and enable diverse viewpoints and approaches.
- A sense of urgency and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Additional Criteria for Role:

- Completion of a Criminal Record Check with the Vulnerable Sector is required before employment commences.

**Salary**: $49,000.00-$53,000.00 per year
