Broad outline of the Role
As a Business HR, drive execution of HR strategies & plans, policies and processes related to recruitment, employee relations, learning & development, engagement and talent management for operations and other functions in the region; drive operational efficiencies related to productivity and local compliance to improve business outcome.
Roles and Responsibilities
Build relationships with senior business leaders to offer thought leadership on organizational and people-related strategy and execution.
Consult with leaders and corporate and business HR teams to create a comprehensive people plan to grow and recruit your teams.
**Provide expertise in the following areas**: career planning, performance management, coaching, data analysis, compensation and rewards, employee relations, learning and development, recognition programs, and strategic planning.
Roles and Responsibilities ( Ctd)
Provide expertise in local benefits and payroll matters.
Able to use data strategically -- Identify and surface trends in both qualitative and quantitative data to help improve organizational health, understand when data will assist in making informed decisions.
Interpret complex analyses and tie back to business priorities.
Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
Able to craft solutions for impact in areas of regional relevance such as engagement, people manager development, on-boarding etc.
Interface with unions and support HR programs for the union employees
Maintains compliance with federal, provincial, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices.
Reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance, with specific expertise regarding compliance requirements for Quebec province
Other knowledge/skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, both in French and English
Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
Ability to work across time zones
Minimum qualification & experience
Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including business partnership, union relations, performance management, and federal and provincial respective employment laws.
Experience of working with labor relations preferred
Bachelor’s degree required
Bilingual in French and English required
