The Wood Automotive Group is looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join the Accounting team **Summary** Reporting directly to the Corporate Controller, the Accounts Payable Specialist, is directly responsible for performing data entry and related duties in disbursing non-payroll accounts payable to individuals, suppliers, and other entities. This includes maintaining ledgers, credit balances, and account irregularities. The Accounts Payable Specialist will also ensure the timely and accurate processing of payment documents such as purchase orders, travel reimbursements, stipends, and any other accounting transactions related to A/P management. This position involves good communication and interaction to provide billing information and support to facilitate daily bank reconciliations. *** **Duties ad Responsibilities includes but not limited to**: - Post and reconcile company payments to general ledgers and complete bank deposits. - Review bills to the company for potential errors and/or discrepancies. - Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies. - Post A/P invoices. - Ensure the strict confidentiality and privacy of financial records as they relate to the organization and its business partners. - Investigate payment problems while following corporate A/P policies and procedures. **Qualifications/Requirements: - Demonstrated ability to accurately calculate, post, correct, and manage accounting figures and financial records. - Able to perform moderate account reconciliations. - Basic knowledge of accounting systems - Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy. - Strong work ethic and positive team attitude. - Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills. - Excellent teamwork and team building skills. - Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing. - Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills. - Good attention to detail. - Accounting, finance, or A/P experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is an asset. **About the Benefits of being part of our team**: - _Benefits Package:_ We have an outstanding benefits package for our employees and families that covers 90% of prescription drugs, 80% of general dentistry, and resources including Financial Advisory Services, Nutritional Counselling, Legal Advisory Services, and much more - _Pension Plan:_ To support our goal of building our employees’ careers and helping employees plan for retirement.
