**Position Summary**
Under the direction of the Lands Manager, the Major Projects Team Lead will follow the philosophies, policies, and objectives established by management. The Major Projects Team Lead is responsible for coordinating, supervising, and implementing projects within the Lands Program, including administration of projects, leases, major infrastructure projects, environmental projects, additions-to-reserve, right-of-way expansions, and agreements. The Major Projects Team Lead will provide necessary technical support and supervision of projects with regards to Lands, conducting meetings and coordinating field inspections related to projects and inquiries. This position will interact with various departments throughout Seabird Island and will liaise with municipal, provincial, and other stakeholders regarding inquiries and to ensure the effective implementation of projects.

**What you’ll do**
**Supervision and leadership**:
- Lead a multidisciplinary team that could include administrative staff, agrologist, agriculturalists, and biologists to address the objectives of the Land’s program.
- Perform full scope of people management activities, work direction, and oversight of direct reports:
- work planning, scheduling, payroll processing, and assessment of staffing needs;
- hiring/promotion, staff development, coaching/mentoring, and assisting with performance management reviews;
- monitor and ensure teams are documenting and tracking information;
- ensure that all staff within the applicable programs have the appropriate training, credentials, oath of confidentiality, criminal record checks, and other documentation as required by SIB or relevant licensing bodies;
- conflict resolution, assisting with discipline, and termination recommendations;
- organize debriefings with the team;
- authorizing leaves of absence;
- evaluating the work of staff and volunteers to ensure that programs are of appropriate quality and that resources are used effectively; and
- promote shared team goals and collaboration among members;
- Assist with preparing annual operating and capital budgets pertaining to the division in consultation with the Program Manager.
- Monitor the overall performance of the division against the program plan.
- Administer/monitor the approved annual budget including authorization of expenditures.
- Prepare and assist in the preparation of reports and recommendations for the Program Manager and stakeholders.
- Attend Committee, community, and other public meetings and events as required.
- Make presentations and provide advice/guidance on Lands-related issues and strategies, new/pending legislation, and regulatory guidelines.
- Initiate actions and coordinate and monitor assigned tasks emerging from meetings as directed by the Program Manager
- Ensure that documented procedural information is available and that necessary reports/follow-ups to near misses and incidents are completed promptly and reported accordingly.

- Lead efforts to oversee lands projects, including but not limited to leasing, major infrastructure projects, right-of-way expansions, environmental projects, and additions to reserve.
