**Regulatory Analyst**
Number of positions: 1 Job Location: Dunsmuir 16
Employment type: Permanent Region: Lower Mainland
Hours of work: Full-time (37.5 hrs/wk) Flexible Work Role: Hybrid
Annual salary: $ 70,800.00 - 76,300.00
**What you'll do**
- Researches, analyzes, develops and participates in the study, consideration, planning and implementation of major
and KBU level policies and practices; developing and drafting analytical and strategy related study/briefing papers and
documentation identifying and assessing potential regulatory risk such as conflicts, inconsistencies, stakeholder or
intervenor positions and interests; developing and drafting regulatory materials and measures to mitigate regulatory risk and
concerns in discussion with regulatory management.
- Monitors, evaluates, assesses legislative, government and interest group activities affecting regulatory issues; participates
agencies; prepares cost estimates related to administrative needs of regulatory involvement.
- Meets and discusses regulatory related strategies, objectives, goals, and interventions with internal and external groups to
ensure these issues are communicated, considered and factored into operating and project plans.
- Contacts and liaises with regulator, government, stakeholder, and interest groups to gather and provide information on
- Provides regulatory specialist expertise, guidance and assistance to internal operating groups requesting practical
interpretations on regulatory rulings and orders affecting BC Hydro's customer billings and account treatment; presents
explanations of regulatory changes to internal staff following regulatory ruling or legislative change.
- Maintains currency with developments, technologies, competitor activities, via the internet, various publications, news, and
other releases etc.
- Conducts demonstrations and presentations of regulatory-related databases, systems, and search functions to staff,
conducts formal and informal training on above systems.
- Performs minor duties related to the above duties that do not affect the rating of the job.
**What you bring**
Degree in a relevant field of study such as Business, Communications, Computer Sciences, or Humanities/Social Sciences
AND two (2) years of related experience, preferably in a regulatory/legal environment.
OR
Certificate/Diploma in a relevant field of study such as Business, Communications, Computer Sciences, or Humanities/
Social Sciences AND four (4) years of related experience, preferably in a regulatory/legal environment.
