A valued TELUS client requires a Cyber Security Compliance Analyst to assist with IT risk management, compliance, and governance for security solutions across the enterprise. This role is suited to an energetic, self-starter with foremost cyber security skills who can work within a dynamic, forward-thinking organization.
**Roles and Responsibilities**:
The Cyber Security Compliance Analyst will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure effective IT General Controls (ITGC) are applied to enable secure information technology processes and business operations. Specific requirements of the role include:
- Ensure IT controls exist and comply with applicable regulatory requirements, including Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and other industry standards.
- Review and evaluate identified risk probability and impact on the enterprise.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to assess the effectiveness of IT controls and remediate any identified gaps in compliance.
- Support regulatory audits with documented compliance activities, including control testing and remediation efforts.
- Conduct security risk assessments focused on IT General Controls, to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities in the IT infrastructure.
- Provide security awareness training for stakeholders throughout the organization.
- Generate reporting on incidents, vulnerability assessments, and organizational awareness on cybersecurity.
- Help with creating security metrics to track the effectiveness of the security posture.
- Stay updated with the latest security trends, technologies, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide guidance and security thought leadership.
- This role is well suited to an ambitious self-starter. An entrepreneurial mindset is required.
**Skills and Experience**:
- Post-secondary diploma/degree in technology and/or recognized certifications (CRISC, CISA, CGEIT, CEH, etc.) plus minimum 5 years of related work experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in information security, focusing on IT General Controls.
- Strong understanding of security principles and practices.
- Experience working with compliance frameworks such as Sarbanes-Oxley.
- Experience with developing and maintaining playbooks.
- Experience with GRC systems and access control management
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Start Date: Immediately
Duration: 12 months - likely to extend. Permanent option available.
Work Location: Hybrid role with biweekly onsite work in Vancouver.
Pay: $3,500.00-$10,000.00 per month
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Vancouver, BC V6E 4S2: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
**Experience**:
- IT General Controls (ITGC) : 5 years (required)
- IT security: 5 years (required)
- GRC systems and access control management : 5 years (preferred)
