**What you'll do**- change customer rates.
- construct new utilities or execute major capital projects.
- acquire or dispose of utilities or specific assets; or
- comply with previous directives from the regulator.
- Collaborate with various departments to support adherence to applicable regulatory legislation, policies, rules, and guidelines, and ensure accurate information is provided to regulators.
- Support business development activities, such as participating in acquisition initiatives and feasibility studies under senior guidance.
- Work alongside the operations, finance, legal, and tax departments to prepare material for regulatory proceedings.
- Conduct necessary research to respond to information requests from regulators or customers and provide basic regulatory guidance to staff.
- Support internal regulatory processes by documenting and updating procedures and practices.
- Attend meetings, public consultation sessions and regulatory hearing as required, under the guidance of more experienced staff members.
- Carry out additional regulatory and compliance-related tasks as needed.

**What you bring?**

Education and Experience
- 1-2 years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline is preferred (e.g. commerce, finance, accounting, economics, business administration or engineering).
- Graduate business degree (MBA), professional finance designation (CFA), or professional accounting designation (CPA) would be an asset.

**Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities**
- Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to take initiative with sound decision-making skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret relevant legislation, policies, rules and guidelines is an asset.
