Toronto, Canada Cardiology Office - Michael Garron Hospital Full time

**Busy private cardiology office located within the Michael Garron Hospital in East York immediately seeking a full-time medical administrative assistant. Must have experience with Accuro and a minimum of 3 years working in a medical clinic/office or hospital setting.**

The successful applicant will be responsible for all aspects of the daily functioning of the office. This includes, but is not limited to:
**Professional Skills**:

- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Maturity in dealing with all contacts (patients and other offices), providing a high level of care, service and empathy (when required)
- Reliable and punctual with a good attendance record together with a positive attitude in the work environment
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task
- Working knowledge of medical terminology considered an asset
- Previous medical experience, preferably in a fast paced hospital or clinic setting that required face to face patient interaction
- Ability to follow office protocols as directed efficiently and in a timely manner
- Willingness and the ability to learn, adapt and embrace any changes that may occur as a result of new technologies

**Summary of Duties**:

- Registering and arriving patients by verifying patient information (ensuring all demographics are up to date and accurate) while making appropriate changes in EMR as needed, and ensuring follow-up appointments are booked accordingly
- Maintain electronc patient records and updating patient demographics; full working knowledge of Accuro (preferred) or similar EMR
- Accept, triage and coordinate incoming telephone calls on a multiline system
- Making appointment reminders and confirmations as well as contacting patients as required
- Booking and scheduling patient appointments
- Clerical tasks will include faxing, scanning, filing (and other daily administrative tasks as required)
- Contacting patients and providing appointment details and instructions for various cardiac testing
- Maintaining a clean work envirobment for all staff and patients
- Familiarity with patient privacy laws and ethical principles
